Attend A Dog Day For Your Favorite MLB Team

Citydogmazaine is waiting for you and your best friend to purchase this season's ticket to dog friendly baseball games in 2025! High and far from grass or shrubs, the stadium’s playground is tick-free approved.

Visit the #1 Dog-Friendly Town in America

Carmel-by-the-Sea is a world-class pet-friendly destination due to its wide-spread acceptance of dogs in hotels, restaurants, and beaches. Carmel’s sandy shores are less appealing to ticks than wooded parks or grassy trails—making it a rare paradise for dog lovers.

Pet-Friendly Beaches

Your companion doesn’t have to be pawed off the sand during the beach's in-season for us humans.

  • In Norfolk, Holkham Beach is open year-round for dogs; but with some restrictions set in place in respect to the short breeding season. From April 1st–August 31st, dogs must be kept on leashes in certain of these sandy areas.

  • Oak Island in North Carolina is a popular location for dogs as leashed companions are allowed on the beach year-round with no time restrictions. During Oak’s off-season (Oct 15-March 15), there are times that dogs can be off-leash in certain areas. There are also two different dog parks on the island!

  • Huntington Dog Beach in Huntington Beach, California, is a popular and scenic location for furry friends and their owners. Huntington Beach is a 1.5-mile stretch of sandy land where dogs can roam freely—and ticks aren’t invited.

  • Longport Dog Beach in Egg Harbor Township, NJ, is a year-round off-leash haven where dogs of all sizes can roam freely. In this sandy play-pen, ticks aren’t roaming with the pack.

Massapequa Preserve

This broad dirt trail (music to our ears and agony to the ticks) was opened by Nassau County in early 2015. It has woods on either side, so ensure you and your companion stick to the groomed path. The ‘Fire Road’ trail heads south from there and ends near a pond that is a favorite with dog owners.

Nordstrom & Nordstrom Rack

Company from friends during your shopping experiences are always fun memories, but what if this company was your four-legged friend instead? Take on Nordstrom & Nordstrom Rack in style this summer as they allow leashed dogs in all locations. On today’s shopping list? Tail-wags and a tick-free adventure.

Tompkins Square Park

Located in New York, Tompkins Square Park is a popular destination for pet owners and an unpopular destination for ticks. The recreation area is entirely fenced in, encompassing plenty of groomed and paved space for your companion to run free and mingle with other fur-babies.
